of yarn coming up in tonight’s update. 9:00 p.m. Eastern. Hope to see you there!
and the living (and knitting) is easy.
There’s only a few days left of our Stripey KAL so we wanted to give everyone a peek as to what’s to come.
Summer and the Knitting is Easy KAL
It’s a very busy summer for all of us this year (Sock Summit, studio moves, weddings and so much more!) so for this KAL everything counts as long as it’s finished during the KAL that will run from July 1 – September 30.
Any FO with Plucky yarn counts during this time frame. A few ideas….
- Have any languishing WIPs… this is just the time to finish them up!
- Those stripes taking longer than anticipated? No worries just finish by 9/30 and you’re in!
- Headed to Sock Summit? Maybe pick up some yarn just for this KAL and whip something up!
As usual there will be a plethora of prizes selected for finished entries. The KAL officially begins July 1st – to knit-along with all of us and be included in the drawings, head on over the to the Plucky Knitter Group on Ravelry and join the fun!
Also, huge shop update tomorrow, Monday, June 27th at 9:00 p.m. Eastern. It’s the ‘let’s pick up where we left off when paypal decided to konk out’ sale. Hope to see you there!
It’s that time again…. time for the second installment of the 2011 Plucky Classics yarn club. If you are not already familiar with Classics, it is a great way to ensure you get a regular dose of Plucky yarn, especially if you find it difficult to make the updates (time zones, work schedules, etc.). Sign-up and yarn magically appears in your mail box every two months. Easy Peasy.
Classics (all primo, all the time!) will continue to run in six month increments (with shipments going out every other month which means the next round will ship in August, October and December). Based on your great feedback, I’m pleased to let you know that we will continue to offer options of both fingering weight and worsted weight. You pick the one that suits you best (or both if you’re so inclined!).
Sign-ups will go live here on the Plucky blog tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. Eastern, Thursday, June 16th and will remain open until Midnight, Friday, June 17th or while spots remain.
Please note: If you are a current subscriber and wish to keep things just as they are, no need to do a thing. You’re all set, the subscription will automatically renew (based on your original sign-up date).
Also, it’s the continuation of the ‘let’s get organized because we moved to a new studio and let’s make it free shipping while we’re at it’ update! The update will be held on Friday, June 17th at 12:00 p.m. Eastern with the bulk of the update going live at that time (I’ll probably be adding a few things after as well and I’ll be sure to keep you all posted on Facebook, Twitter and the Plucky Group on Ravelry as to when the update ends). I’m happy to say that along with some lovely one-of-a-kinds, I will also sneak in a few of the new repeatables I’ve come up with that are set to be unveiled at Sock Summit next month… sneak peek for you guys!
We moved Plucky HQ on Friday which means we’re in ‘let’s get really organized this time’ mode.
You know what that means…. shop update today! I will be adding yarn to the shop throughout the day (primo, sale skeins, colorwork kits, random sweater sets, etc). Stay tuned to the Plucky group on Ravelry, the Facebook page or Twitter – I’ll be sure to keep you posted as to when the action starts and stops.
If you’re like me, you love the idea of kits. Pattern + yarn = instant project. That’s it. The hardest decision you have to make is choosing the colorway you’d like to use. Even with that I’ve tried to help make the decision as painless as possible – giving you a few, but not too many, choices.
So, that accessory kit I was telling you about? It’s ready!
First in a series of three accessories kits/patterns from the very talented Rose Beck of RosyPosy Designs. Sign-ups will begin tomorrow, Friday, June 3rd at 9:00 a.m. Eastern time and will remain open while spots remain. The kits (using two skeins of Plucky Primo fingering weight) will be available in the colors shown below.
The first accessory pattern in a 3-part series celebrating “plucky” knitters with Plucky yarn!
Rose was kind enough to offer us a little information about herself and her designs: I have been a fiber addict since the age of 7, when I taught myself how to crochet from a library book. A dear friend introduced me to knitting when I was a teenager, and I have been carrying around pointy sticks ever since. A long medical leave in 2010 left me little strength for holding needles or hooks, but provided considerable time to explore designing. I like to design accessories, especially simple but elegant shawls and scarves that make the most of today’s hand-dyed luxury yarns.
