  • “My words of wisdom…leave it for tomorrow, sleep on it and it will all be better in the morning….and it usually is.”

And because it’s Monday and I said so, we’re going to have two winners. Winner no. 2:

Amy J. ~

So many great quotes on here, great reading! I’m a fan of some Abe Lincoln ones, paraphrasing but the jist of them are:

  • “If I was two-faced, do you think I’d be wearing this one?”
  • “You are as happy as you choose to be”
  • “In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.”

Congratulations ladies! Please contact me at thepluckyknitter @ gmail.com with your contact information so I can get your Avery to you as soon as possible (and we can talk about color options).

Thank you to all of you who took the time to enter the contest. I cannot begin to tell you how much fun I had reading your comments.

avery no. 2 + an update & a contest

Avery no. 2 is finished and I’m hard pressed to tell you what I like best about this pattern/finished object. It is a win-win all the way around. Plain and simple. Few things worth noting~

  • It’s an extremely fun pattern. Easy, but by no means is it a boring knit. I would call it engaging without being mind bending.
  • The finished object is, well, just so perfect! The size (both width & depth), drape and then there’s the texture – cannot forget to mention the texture. The texture of Melissa’s pattern is perfection.
  • I love this so much and want you to get in on the action too so I’ve decided that I need to give away a kit to make an Avery of your very own. The kit will include pattern (upon notification of winning I will gift purchase the pattern for you) and Plucky aran cashmere to make your very own.
  • But I need you to tell me something. I would love to know what your favorite quote/saying/expression is. Some deep and meaningful thought/inspiration? Something totally cheeky and fun? Words of wisdom (or something completely meaningless) your grandma said that you now find yourself saying? Leave a comment and I’ll randomly choose a winner on Sunday evening, October 30th.

update!

Yellow Brick Road

It’s time for a Plucky shop update too~ The update will be of the sneak-up variety beginning tomorrow, Friday, October 28th at 10:00 a.m. Eastern with items appearing in the shop throughout the day. There will be a little bit of everything… some pre-orders, some ready-to-ship as well as some one of a kinds.

There will be more mystery kits as well. Primo fingering and primo worsted (as before) and then I thought it would be fun to add an aran/worsted mystery kit option (I have some fun aran – merino cashmere & blue faced leicester blends – skeins as well as 100% merino single ply worsted and some merino/MCN lite skeins that would make great gift knits and/or one/two skein projects).

FYI~ Here’s hoping there will be just a handful of etsy shop updates left. The Plucky Knitter shop is this close to being unveiled.

retired ~

Gimlet Haze has been retired. The end.

Friday!

Another Avery (because 1. I love the pattern and finished object so much and 2. I can’t show you the other secret cowl I’m working on…. yet) in Tuscadero – 8ply cashmere.

As promised~

The second update this week is scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, October 13th at Noon Eastern with the bulk of the update going live at once. However, there will be items added to the shop as we go along. And, as per usual, I will keep you all updated via Ravelry and Facebook as to the status of the update).

You guys love options as much as I do – so I’m happy to say there will be some pre-orders as well as some ready-to-ship items available. Here are the bases to be offered, just to name a few (and, yes, pre-orders will be available in quite a few of the new and not-so-new repeatable colorways):

  • MCN Aran
  • Merino Single Ply Fingering & Lace

  • MCN Lite
  • Primo Worsted & Fingering
  • Merino/Alpaca/Silk Lite

Thank you so much for your enthusiastic response to the new update format as well as the response to the new repeatables. So, until tomorrow, happy knitting!

All of the above new repeatables plus a bunch of other new and not so new favorites will be available in the shop update this evening. I think you will really like what is in store for this update. After much thought (and a lot of input from you lovelies) I have come to the conclusion that you might find it helpful for project planning purposes (and helpful to ensure you secure enough yarn of a particular dye run) to have an all pre-order update. How this will work is, the next shop update will be today, Monday, October 10th at 6:00 p.m. Eastern. At that time, the shop will be full of pre-orders of primo worsted, primo fingering and several other bases (MCN Lite, for example) in all the new (and some not so new) repeatable colorways. The colorway, quantity of skeins per order and base yarn will be listed in the title of the listing. There will be everything from two skein pre-orders to 9 skein pre-order quantities.

If you would like to see some of the other repeatables that will be available in the update just click on over to the repeatable set on Flickr.

Also, there will be more mystery kits available as well. The response to the two and three skein mystery kits has been overwhelmingly positive and I think it is fun to continue the mystery. After all, who doesn’t love a surprise?
