Instant Gratification Update!

Daffodils

Happy Saturday everyone!

Your positive feedback to the Transmute update and the changes I’ve made to posting about updates and kit options have been so positive. Thank you!

As promised, Monday morning, March 31st at 10:00 a.m. in the Plucky ETSY shop there will be an Instant Gratification update, or as we call it at the studio and here in the Plucky group – an IG. This will be mostly mysteries and a smattering of onesie twosies (maybe even a few SQ’s) to spice things up a bit. There will even be some pure cashmere!

Stay tuned for details, but this time we are going to offer:

  • 8 skein MYSTERY kits, giving you the option to order your kit in Neutrals, Warms, Cools or Brights or PURE MYSTERY.
  • 3 skein fingering weight kits
  • 3 & 5 skein sport weight kits
  • Worsted, Aran & Sweater blanket kits (don’t want to make a blanket? Well, here is your ready made colorwork kit and/or hats and mitts for you and those you love)
  • Mystery Polar Opposite kits
  • Mystery Cozy sets, Lace & Single mystery
  • And who knows what else I may have up my sleeve (I’m not even entirely sure yet!).
  • Bases – Probably all of them in some way, shape or form.

Thanks for your continued support and for being so patient as we work to build the website. We hope you are finding it easy to navigate, and are enjoying the expanding Plucky colorway gallery.

Have a fantastic weekend and happy knitting/crocheting!
Sarah

P.S. Please remember in the Plucky ETSY shop and as with all IG updates, these items are ready to ship!

Transmute

An Exclusive Sweater Kit
from Melanie Berg & The Plucky Knitter

trans·mute – transˈmyo͞ot
verb: change in form, nature, or substance

transmute

Melanie Berg brings us a sweater that will take us to warmer and gentler days ahead. Here is a casual-yet-sophisticated sweater with a hint of waist shaping and a flattering boat neck. The playful stripes can be bold or muted, which ever suits your fancy.

The pattern is very comprehensive, covering eleven sizes, from 32” to 52” and is written to be worn with 0” ease. Melanie has given us very detailed instructions and stitch totals, making it simple to ensure we are on the right track, row after row! Each kit will contain the pattern, your choice of one of three bases – Bello Fingering, Primo Fingering and Plucky Feet – and the color combo of your choice. Please note that in the gradient kits, you will still be ordering 3 or 4 skeins of your MC (depending on the size you order) and three different single skeins of the CCs, to be used for gradient contrast stripes.

Kits are shown with the MC on the left and CC on the right. The quantities for MC and CC will already be set for you. Below is a list of the pairings that are available for the Two Color kits:

March Surprise Update

SOS – A Contest!

Comfy contest

SOS. All hands on Deck. I need your help.

Several of you have commented that the new yarn needs to be called something other than Comfy and I couldn’t agree more!  Hayley and I have been brainstorming, but we haven’t been able to come up with something that fits. I am hoping that you guys will join us in the brainstorming session.

The new Plucky yarn is a woolen spun (think light and lofty, warm) worsted weight yarn in a blend of 75% merino and 25% cashmere with 240 yards per skein. Being that it is a woolen spun yarn (think grabby) it is perfect for color work or any project that calls for a more “weekend in the country” look and feel. Even though it is a superwash yarn, it spit splices like a dream and it takes the dye in a way that gives each skein a creamy/heathery look. I love it for light and lofty cables. The finished project, while not completely weightless, sure is light.

So….. let’s have a contest! If this stirs your creative juices, please send us your suggested name. If you are the first person to submit the winning name, guess what the prize will be?!?!  BINGO! You will win a sweater quantity (8 skeins) in either Lonesome Highway, Hotsy Totsy, Technicolor Teal, High Cotton, Sounds Like A Carnival or Oatmeal.

Please submit your entries in the comments below. I will be keeping the comments private until the end of the contest to keep if fair and a surprise for everyone. Once the contest is complete I will publish the entries. The contest will be open until Friday at Noon Eastern.

OK knitters. Let the games begin!

One Bold Move

Bold MOve Green Full

One Bold Move deserves another.

With this incredibly flattering skirt, Lorilee is inviting each of us to make a bold move.  For her, the inspiration for this design came from her own bold move across the country.  For many of us, this skirt will offer a chance to try something new and imaginative.  That certainly will be a bold move for most of us.

As anybody who has had the pleasure of taking a class from Lorilee or of knitting one of her stunning designs knows, her pattern writing skills are extraordinary and her explanations are spot on.  Now she brings us a design that works across the board for all body shapes and sizes.  The pattern contains instructions for modifications that will insure a good fit. The vertically stranded purl stitch columns allow the skirt to move freely and flatter a multitude of body shapes and sizes.  I have had the privilege of seeing Bold Move on many shapes and sizes and I have to say – it looks fantastic on everyone!

The kit (pattern & yarn) will be available right here on the Plucky Blog this Sunday evening, March 9th at 6:00 p.m. Eastern.

Crew – A Sweater Kit

Well, Amy did it again and went ahead and designed yet another must-have-now sweater. When I first saw Crew, I knew it was a winner and just screams Spring! This sweater is so cute; classically trendy and oh so stylish with it’s raglan-sleeves, flattering cut, and as Amy herself put it so well, “stripes and buttons add a little funk to an otherwise simple sweater.”

Amy’s sample shown in Jack of All Trades, Icey Audrey, and Wintry Mix.  The “Original” kit colorway option.
Oh, how I love those buttons!  Styled just as Amy show’s here with just a peek of a tank underneath.  This is the perferct transition sweater from winter to spring (Yes, Spring is coming – I have hope!).Crew is written for Primo Sport.  It’s the perfect option for a transitional sweater without being too heavy.
