So many thank you’s

Stitches Collage Thank you

Nashville – we love you!

The dust has mostly settled, the pups have been cuddled, the suitcases have been mostly unpacked and the biscuit detox has begun!

Back at the barn, we are continuing to unpack, ship classics and get ready for some fun things coming next week. But, first, thank you. THANK YOU.

Stitches South was special because of all the friendship and kindness you brought with you. Even if you weren’t able to physically get to Nashville, you were road trippin’ with us. You took the time to post wonderful reports of your road trip knitting or how your life might have gotten in the way of actual yardage and were always there to cheer each other (and us) on. We loved having you in the back seat of our virtual station wagon!

To all those who brought us treats, you are the fuel that kept us going! The chocolates, chips, nuts, biscuits (see above), baked goods, beverages, (coffee, tea & adult) and even some super interesting jerky (a huge hit with the fellas!), we loved it all. I will have to do some double time on the treadmill this next week, but it was so worth it! You guys are the absolute best.

But, most of all, thank you for your enthusiasm and energy. We loved helping with your project planning and finding your personal colors. Thank you for every hug, every group photo and for being so warm and sweet to our Dad. This was his very first Stitches trip with us and I think he was a bit overwhelmed. But, so many of you took the time to chat with him and make him feel welcome. He sure does love knitters – and so do we!

You guys are the best. Ever. A zillion thank you hugs to everybody.

Spring Forward – Friday, May 1st!

l to r: Fresh Air in Early Light, Fresh Air in Gizmo & Screen Door

The Spring Forward collection is in full bloom and here at the studio we are slowly catching our collective breath following our return from Stitches South. Reading and feeling all the enthusiasm, smiles and kind words you have all shared makes the hard work by our entire Plucky crew so very rewarding. Good gravy but you guys are great – thank you from ALL OF US!!

Beach Walk Collage
Beach Walk in Crew

It was great fun to unveil the Spring Forward collection at Stitches. We were able to display all the samples that were modeled in the book. We brought Screen Door knit up in Miss Manners, Tin Type, Camomile and Splendor! The Porch Swing by Amy Miller and Rip Tide infinity scarf, by Jill Zielinski, were big hits. It was super fun to watch people as they picked up the samples and experienced Sophisticate held double for the first time…very swoon worthy! Speaking of swooning…. The Fresh Air eyelet cardigan in cashmere. That was very popular! If cashmere is not your cuppa tea, might I suggest Traveler Sport – it would be divine! The Spring Forward bug even bit us again!! Hayley, Amy and, goodness, I couldn’t help myself either…. we snuck in a little knitting at Stitches by casting on a Fiddlehead on Saturday because we all need a light-weight hat this time of year. And, most definitely, I need a Stripe Parade in Snug Fingering and I think you do too! Oh, and a Beach Walk. Everyone needs a Beach Walk. Sheesh! Where to stop?!

Just a few of the colorways available are shown below and listed in the Announcement thread – if there is something you’d love to see please pop into the Wish List thread and let me know!

Road Trippin’ With Plucky

Stitches South Road Trip Blog

Road trips. Remember those games we played as kids? The license plate game…I Spy…Madlibs….I’m going out West and I’m bringing? Parents would suggest anything to fend off the dreaded “How much longer?” and “Are we there yet?” Elmer T’s stock answer was always “20 more minutes”.

Would you like to play a game with us as we hit the highway and head to Nashville?

It will be a yardage contest (though I keep referring to it as the mileage contest) and it will begin the minute the truck pulls away from the studio to head to Nashville on Monday the 20th. The contest will end as we pull back up to the barn, sometime Monday, the 27th! You keep track of your yardage worked, from start to finish, and post lots of progress photos and we’ll be posting photos from Stitches. It doesn’t even have to be a new project…WIPs welcome!

The game thread will remain locked until the moment we hit the road. You can be sure I will keep you posted as we get closer, giving you something of a window during which the contest will begin. Right now it’s approximately 7:00 a.m. EST on Monday morning.

We invite you to knit (or crochet) with us as we hit the road and experience Stitches South. We are hoping that the game thread will be filled with lots of photos and great stories of dedication to your yardage goals.

Once we arrive back home, the contest will stop. That’s when you can post your totals! And, just to be sure that no one feels any pressure, there will be lots of prizes drawn randomly from all who participate, as well as special prizes for great feats of achievement!

So remember, because this is just for fun, there will be just two rules to follow!

Start counting your yardage when we leave the barn (you’ll be racking up the yardage, we’ll be racking up the mileage!) and stop counting when we return home.

This is going to be great! It would be terrific if everyone could come to Nashville, but we know that’s not possible. But, we sure can all knit together. Won’t you join us on the road?

xo,
s&h

Neutral – But Never Boring

Neutrals Collage 1

Neutrals. So necessary and never, ever boring. After all, neutrals provide the background for us to let those colors pop (the backup singers of the yarn world) and just as comfortable when shown front and center. They are suitable for us ladies and the fellas just love them. Talk about the work horses of your stash. From a hint of silver to the depths of the richest of hues, and everything else in between, join us for an anything but boring neutrals update!

PluckyDuets_2015_Logo-FB

And speaking of background singers, let’s also pay tribute to Plucky Duets. The last round was hugely popular so let’s do it again – and, just for fun, let’s do another mystery duet too! So to recap, we’re adding a second chance to select the March Duet! Please remember that the March Duet is still a spoiler, so if you want to see photos of this one, you will need to hop over to the Spoiler thread for a look. The May Duet is still a total mystery. By selecting either duet option, you are ordering one set of two skeins, on the same base, in two colors that have been created to form a brand new duet and are sold as duets only because, well, they just belong together!

Please join us Sunday, April 12th at 8:00 PM EST and Monday, April 13th at 9:00 AM EST here on the Plucky blog as we shine the spotlight on the grays, the creams and the browns and two fun Duets. We are going to include lots of our Plucky bases for this update. Whether you’re looking for a sweater  quantity of your favorite gray or just a few neutrals to have on hand to make your next color project pop, we hope you’ll find what you’re looking for. And, you can bet that the new Duet will be fun and maybe just a little unexpected!

Tomboy, Petticoat & Twill –

Good morning! How goes it this mid-point in the week? On Spring break? Gearing up for Spring Break? About to start a new project be it knitting, crochet, spring cleaning, or maybe a new recipe?

Hayley and I are about to start a new project that I’ll be able to tell you about in the coming weeks…. and of course there’s the big project that is preparations for Stitches South. But first, you’re all loving the new colorways and, you asked for it, on the lighter bases. So, this is what I’m thinking….

Bello
Primo Fingering
Cashmere
Lace
Sophisticate

Feet
Snug Fingering

In all the below colorways (plus the brand new Tomboy and Petticoat). How’s that sound? I’ll put together a few color kits for you too – sound fun?

In this update you can chose skeins in your preferred amount or you can purchase a color kit in your preferred base or both!

Now the only thing is – timing of the update. It may have to be just Friday at 10:00 a.m. this week.

I’ll be sending out the proper email today and working on color kits and pairings throughout the day. Please keep an eye on Facebook and Instagram for color pairings as they pop up today.

All Dolled Up Collage

Tomboy: If you love Cassidy – you’re going to really love Tomboy. Such a classic, pretty blue. While I love Cassidy (that’s a fellas club color), Tomboy is now favorite/signature blue. Looks great with brights, neutrals, jewel tones and the scums.

Petticoats: A pink for pink lovers and non-pink lovers alike. It’s inspired by a favorite faded red sweatshirt. Girly but not in your face girly. Petticoat is brilliant with aqua’s, greens, neturals (love it with twill and all grays) and more.
