Plucky Classics, A Yarn Club

It’s Sign-Up Time!

A Brand New Round of Plucky Classics

Sign-ups begin Sunday, November 20th at 9:00 a.m. EST, right here on the Plucky Blog!
We are super excited to open up the Plucky Classics subscription program for another round. We want to give everyone a chance to sign-up for something new, add to their existing subscription, or give the Classics program a whirl for the very first time!

We’ll be saying goodbye to Rustic and Sweater but rounding out the Traveler line-up with Traveler DK and Aran.

There may be months where we choose to draw from the same inspiration, but an entirely different colorway specifically for the bases of Crew, Oxford, Scholar, and Traveler. These four bases due to their unique fiber content/properties, take the dye differently than the others but you can be assured we’ll choose a colorway that make their uniqueness positively sing. And they will be inspired by the same ‘Classic’.

For those who aren’t really sure why we call it Classics, let me give you a little background. Hayley and I love old movies. The Classics. Or, at least those that we consider to be classics! Our idea of a perfect evening is to slip an old movie into the DVD player, make some popcorn, sit back with our knitting and lose ourselves in a movie. But, it’s not just the oldies that we consider Classics. Who doesn’t love a cheezy 80’s or a 90’s disaster movie?  Our tastes are eclectic, to say the least.  And, it’s from our personal list of classic movies that we draw our inspiration for the Classics subscription colors. We hope you will watch and knit with us!

Here is how the Plucky Classics subscription works:

If you are already a Classics subscriber, and you don’t want to change a thing with your current selections, you are golden and don’t need to do anything! Your subscription will continue on in the same manner.  If your subscription included one of the bases that are not featured in this round of Classics, you will have already received correspondence from customer service about your subscription.

  1. Sign-ups go live Sunday, November 20 at 9:00 a.m. EST on the Plucky Blog and will remain open as long as spots remain available.
  2. Upon enrollment (the date you subscribe, beginning Sunday, November 20), you will have the payment for your yarn deducted from your Paypal account. Subsequent payments will continue to be deducted, on the same date every other month, until you cancel your subscription.
  3. At the end of every month following the deduction (December), your Classics order will be shipped to you. You will continue to receive yarn, every other month, until you cancel your subscription (February, April, June and so on).
  4. The base and quantity you choose will be your subscription until you (or we) cancel your subscription. You may cancel your subscription at any time.
  5. Bases available are: Primo Aran, Primo Fingering, Primo Sport, Primo Worsted, Bello, Bello Worsted, Single, Feet, Trusty, SNUG Worsted, SNUG Fingering, SNUG (bulky), Crew, Oxford (original), Scholar (original), Sophisticate, Traveler (sport), Traveler DK, Traveler Aran and Plucky Cashmere and Cachet! A quick run-down of yarn details can be found on our website here.
  6. The Classics color each month is a surprise colorway and may be the same across all bases. There may be months where we choose to draw from the same inspiration, but an entirely different colorway specifically for the bases of Crew, Oxford, Scholar, and the Travelers! These four bases due to their unique fiber content/properties, take the dye differently than the others but you can be assured we’ll choose a colorway that make their uniqueness positively sing.
  7. If you would like a subscription for more than one base, you will need to make an additional subscription.
  8. Pricing, including shipping costs can be viewed here.  Please be sure to choose the appropriate selection (U.S. or International) based on your shipping address.

Plucky Classics is a great (and fun!) way to ensure you get a regular dose of Plucky yarn, especially if you find it difficult to make the updates (time zones, work schedules, etc.). Sign-up and yarn will magically appear in your mailbox every other month. Easy Peasy!

Please note: multiple orders will be combined for shipping, domestic and international.
Values for customs documents will be completed in accordance with the pricing shown on your PayPal receipt (i.e. One skein Primo Worsted shipped internationally will reflect a value of $33.00, etc. for customs). Again, thank you!

If you are new to Plucky we invite you to read all about our Blog Updates in the FAQs found HERE. Also, be sure to sign up for our eNewsletter and go to our Plucky Knitter app so you are always up-to-date on events and news.

LUXE CLUB

A Subscription To Luxury

Does the thought of cashmere regularly arriving at your door appeal to your longing for a bit of luxury now and then? Do you wish you had chosen cashmere as an option for your Classics subscription? Would your budget love a “set it and forget it” payment plan?

Subscriptions for the Plucky Luxe Club will open on Sunday, November 20 at 9:00 am EST here on the Plucky blog and will remain open until subscription spots remain.  Upon subscribing, you will be billed every month for one half of the total amount of your subscription*. Approximately 15 days after your second payment, your yarn will be shipped to you. This will result in six bi-monthly shipments, featuring a brand new color for each installment, and twelve monthly payments.

Let’s use November as our example. If you subscribe for three skeins of Cachet (US subscription), and using the chart below, your total cost for those three skeins will be $226. On the day you sign up (for example, November 20th), your PayPal account will automatically be billed for one half of your total, $113. On December 20th, your PayPal account will automatically be billed for the second half your of your total. And then on/about January 4th, you will be sent all three skeins of your Cachet in the brand new mystery Luxe color. This color will be exclusive to the Luxe Club and will not be available on any other base. And, Hayley and I will be sure to post pattern suggestions in the Luxe Club Spoiler thread, sharing ideas and chatting about what we think will look terrific in the newest color! You can be sure that each mystery color will positively sing on cashmere!

LUXE Subs
*All applicable postage/shipping fees will be reflected in your subscription total.

This is a subscription only club, with a one-time signup event. Your current subscription will continue, with no changes, until you (or Plucky) cancel. If you wish to modify your order, adding or subtracting skeins of Cashmere (sport) or Cachet to your subscription, you may do so now by cancelling your current subscription in PayPal or by choosing a new subscription during this sign-up event. If you are currently enjoying a Luxe Club subscription (for which you subscribed to last May), you can sit back and relax, knowing that you will continue to receive your regularly scheduled delivery of cashmere! If you are new to The Luxe Club, welcome! We are delighted to bring you this opportunity for a bit of every day luxury.

If cashmere is calling your name, sign ups are below! We will continue to hold the market open while supplies last. Thank you so much for your continued support for all things Plucky! Whether you sign up for one skein or a sweater quantity, everybody deserves a little cashmere in their life!

Please note that if you are currently receiving cashmere in your Classics subscription, your Classics will continue to be sent in the Classics color. The Luxe Club is separate and will be the only way to receive the exclusive Luxe Club colors.

Fondly,
Plucky-Sig-USE

Classics Reformation~

PluckyClassicsLogoNEW

Good Monday morning to you! Seth asked that I share the following with you:

After days of discussion and planning, we have decided to simplify the Plucky Classics process. Hold on, cause this might just be kind of amazing (at least I hope). Here is the plan…

On or by March 14th, we cancel all current subscriptions and refund subscription payments made for April delivery.

Once all subs are cancelled, Sarah will announce a sign-up period to take place for April’s Classics. Most likely later this week, but it might be next week (Sarah will announce right here on the Plucky blog). We will keep this sign-up open for as long as we can, at least a couple of days, to give everyone serious about Classics a chance to sign up for what they want.

We will use the blog update style. Pick your base. Pick your quantity. Checkout. Simple, right? No cart jacking. No crashing servers. Pretty much everyone’s favorite, right?

So, what do you need to do? We ask that you review your current subscription and have in mind what you’d like your new subscription to be. Please Do Not Cancel At This Time. Sarah and I will handle all cancellations (to make sure you are refunded for already-paid-for April Classics).

Then, be ready when Sarah announces the sign-up dates.

Why are we doing this? Well, Classics has a tendency to get a little messy over time. People want in, people want out, and people want to change what they’re getting every month. The sign-up periods in the past were not always on the same dates of the month, so sometimes people are paying over two months in advance for their yarn or they’ve got a payment on the 10th of February and a payment on the 10th of March… both for April Classics, which is kind of crazy impossible to keep track of on our end.

So with the new arrangement you will be signing up (and paying) in March and you receive your shipment in April. Then you will be billed again in May for your June shipment and so on. Classics will always ship the month after you pay for them.

Some things to remember…

If your subscription doesn’t work in a particular month (credit card failed, account closed, etc.), it is your responsibility to work that out with us (pluckycustomerservice@gmail.com). We cannot re-initiate payment requests on subscriptions (not that I’ve found), so if your payment fails, you may miss Classics for the period, or even be dropped off the list if your payment method doesn’t work the next time. Please be sure to include your subscription number in all correspondence.

There will, of course, be opportunities to change your Classics subscription in the future, which we will explain in more detail when the time comes. And you can cancel any time before your subscription payment date if you no longer wish to receive Classics.

Well, that’s probably enough from me. Feel free to ask questions and we will do our best to help you. If you know you have a subscription and paid for April Classics and do not receive your refund by the end of this week, please contact us @ pluckycustomerservice@gmail.com and we will get that worked out.

Wow, this is going to be so awesome come April. Seriously, you guys might not know this, but I pretty much do most of my crying and drinking when it is Classics month due to all the date confusion and missing information on some old sign-ups.

Alright, sum it up… don’t cancel anything, Sarah and I will cancel your Classics and send refunds to those who’ve paid for April already. Signups will be announced soon!

Thanks and have a great day!

Seth

Plucky Classics – Sign-ups Tomorrow!

PluckyClassicsLogoNEW

Plucky Classics sign-ups tomorrow, Thursday, December 6th at Noon Eastern right here on the Plucky blog.

I am happy to announce that we will be offering a new option to Plucky Classics but, the most important thing to remember is if you want to keep your sub exactly as is you do not need to do anything at all. Just sit back and wait for your shipments to arrive. However, if you are not currently enrolled or would like to add or change your subscription now is the time.

Plucky Feet, Primo Fingering, Sport, Worsted and (this is new!) Primo ARAN will be offered. We are now going to be able to offer your choice of base with a drop down box where you can choose from 1 to 10 skeins. That base and quantity will be your subscription until you change/cancel your subscription.

If you would like a subscription for more than one base you will need to make an additional subscription. Please note, the shipments ship month-end, every other month beginning in February, then again in April and so on until you cancel your subscription.

Plucky Classics is a great (and fun!) way to ensure you get a regular dose of Plucky yarn, especially if you find it difficult to make the updates (time zones, work schedules, etc.). Sign-up and yarn magically appears in your mail box every two months. Easy Peasy.

Re-Entry~

tent 2

Thursday, already? Time sure flies when you are playing catch-up from a road trip. But, it’s high time we got back to work.

So, tomorrow, Friday, June 1st there will be a ‘It’s good to be home and let’s kick off the Summer Sneak Update’!

Update begins tomorrow, Friday, June 1st in the etsy shop at 10:00 a.m. Eastern and will go throughout the day. The bulk of the update will be ready-to-ship items with a nice number of pre-order items added for good measure.

Seth (Mr. Wunder-Tech) is here today and we are plotting and planning some new and exciting things. Announcements coming very soon.

It’s good to be home. So much laundry and picture downloading yet to do (grizzlies, buffalo, elk, oh my!). In the meantime I thought I would share a few iPhone pics of the one of the highlights of the trip – loved glamping!

The update will be held on Friday, June 17th at 12:00 p.m. Eastern with the bulk of the update going live at that time (I’ll probably be adding a few things after as well and I’ll be sure to keep you all posted on Facebook, Twitter and the Plucky Group on Ravelry as to when the update ends). I’m happy to say that along with some lovely one-of-a-kinds, I will also sneak in a few of the new repeatables I’ve come up with that are set to be unveiled at Sock Summit next month… sneak peek for you guys!

Retooling~

New year, time to change things up a bit, don’t you think? I’ve received some great feedback from you for a re-vamped Plucky Classics (sign-ups coming this week).  In addition to re-vamped Classics, I’m looking forward to offering quarterly sweater clubs (similar to Moody Broody Grey Club) and even creating some monthly luxury clubs throughout the year. Plucky will also be hitting the road and attending more shows than ever before…. Sock Summit here we come! So, long story short, 2011 is set to be a year of new and exciting experiences for all of us!

Oh, and get this…..(pinch me because I can hardly believe it myself) our Ravelry group hit 1,000 members as of early this morning. All I can say is be prepared for a big celebration with a contest and giveaways!

Let’s see, what else? A very little bit of knitting but a whole lot of cleaning and reorganization.  The studio was on the receiving end of a little retooling last week. Nothing crazy, just a nice deep clean and moved things around a bit. A fresh perspective – it sure does wonders for clearing the head.

Thank you!

This three month round will be the last three months of the Little Black Dress version of the club. I have something fun in mind for 2011 and think you’ll really get a kick out of the theme. BUT…. in the meantime, let’s mix up the last three months of 2010. Sound good? Good. What are the details?

Well, I want your input! We’re going to open up submission to all of you members. You tell me what movie inspires you, what actress/character – even throw out a color. Then all submissions will be entered in a raffle and I get to put my creative spin on your selection. On Monday we’ll have a new email for you to send your submissions to as well as all other pertinent information.

This is going to be fun!

Time flies ~

Whether you’re having fun or not! I can’t believe another summer weekend has come and gone.  The last couple weeks have been completely insane around these parts (which is why the poor neglected plucky blog has been even more quiet than normal). But, we put all the insanity on hold to head West to Madison, WI to see some friends (with a stop in Rockford, IL to drop our carpooling companion off to see some more old friends). The weekend has been planned since March – no way were we going to let this pass us by!

There was the Art Fair On The Square that offered fantastic browsing opportunities and then, of course, the Farmer’s Market. How I LOVE a great market. Splurged and got two loaves of this. WOW.

Love the Capitol in the background. What a setting.

Say hi to Hickory Mr. Koa!!!  Fully aware that I look a little crazed here. We were getting ready for a night on the town (which never happens) so I was a little excited!

They’re so dandy.

Just being silly.

Next morning we were up and at it, back to Rockford to pick up or intrepid travel partner, the fabulous Ms. Nicole.

But, wait, the most exciting part?!?!? I kid you not….I’m knitting an Ishbel and it’s totally keeping my attention. Just the knitting distraction I’ve needed.

The last few months I’ve had what can only be described as the worst cast of castonitis I have ever encountered. Nothing is holding my attention and I think I’ve figured out why-  my thinking was all wrong! ALL WRONG!  I was under the misguided impression (my own impression) that I needed mashed potato (you know, comfort food) knitting. When what I really needed was something to make me think (I need a knitting distraction!). Now, I know Ishbel is a pretty simple lace pattern, but for this lace newbie (terrified lace newbie would be more accurate) it’s just the ticket to keep me on my toes. And, as a bonus, I got to join all the Plucky Knitters in the Lace KAL! Whether or not I get it done it time remains to be seen, but here I go nonetheless. Though, I have to say, it seems to be flying along so far.I’m at the lace part, section B to be exact and I’m in love with this knit.

Now – off to tame my email in-basket….. Happy Monday everyone!
