Wonky Week ~

Charade socks  are coming along very well and, shock of shocks – I’m not even close to being sick of knitting it  – perhaps I can avoid the dreaded second sock syndrome with this pair.  Don’t hold your breath, but I think I have a pretty good shot at an actual pair this time. Picture to come tomorrow.

Plucky girl started drivers ed this week. Wow. Ok. Forget the fact that “time flies”  and “oh, I can’t believe my little girl is driving”  and all that stuff. What’s really curling my hair is the fact that in another week or so I will be in a car with her and she will be the one driving. In control. Of a car.

She’s so excited – actually, to  be perfectly honest, I am excited for her. Scared and excited at the same time. Ok, got to stop thinking about it. I have to go knit. Actually, I will be dyeing all day tomorrow – so look for a great big shop update this weekend.

I don’t have any kids but I do have a sister 14 years younger and remember being a little freaked out about it… especially when we took a cross country trip.

A wise woman suggested that I buy two sets of DPNs and knit both socks “landmark to landmark”, that way when I am done with one, the other one’s only a wee bit behind. Works like a charm unless you lose one of them 🙂

Ok – first of all beautiful picture of S. Hard to believe she’s already old enough to drive. On the bright side – when you don’t feel like running to the store you now have an anxious teenage driver perfectly willing to go for you! Please give her a hug for me 🙂

Like Stacey, I don’t have kids (yet . . . and I don’t mean to make that sound like I’m pregnant now, ‘cuz I’m not!!). But I have a “niece” who I held when she was two days old – now she is a college graduate with a full time job and her own apartment. How does this happen?? Surely WE haven’t gotten older, just them, right? LOL Can’t wait to see your socks.

What a beautiful picture of Plucky Girl.

Driver’s Ed… Car… Child… yes, time to pick up your knitting and get lost in a good pattern.

    Have you started “school” yet?

Plucky girl is very pretty ~ I love this photo!

Teaching my kids to drive was always nerve racking! It wasn’t always the quality of their driving skills but that they think they know everything already.

I suggest that parents buy their kids all those barbie cars and such when they are little to start practicing-Gas is on the right, three point turns, look over your shoulder to back up. Seriously it makes a difference. 🙂
